Good Enough for Me (Anje) and Bobbie McGee (Me)

So!  Here's a picture of Sutter Creek Gallery.  Four of us art-girls gathered in this rustic, artistic town to see art, have lunch and do a little shopping.  Since two of us live in the Pioneer area and two are from Roseville, we met in Sutter Creek to see Anje Olmstead's art at a venue there.

After seeing Anje's art show and a leisurely lunch we strolled enjoying the scenery,  weather, the clear air and the numerous one of a kind shops and stores.  We finally stumbled upon this spot which is stuffed with art.  There is whimsical, big bold art; there is very, very fine, traditional art; there are painters showing here that do on-location art; and a lot of 3-dimensional works of art.  We were introduced to one of the owners by our companion, Sharie, she lives in the area and actually works at Blondie's there in town.

So!  Anje and I decided to show some of our work at this gallery.  It's actually a tourist town just off of the famous Hwy. 49, a lot of daytrippers visit there from Sacramento and the Bay Area.

Here's a picture of the wall we will be occupying, Anje's collage work is closest and my work is more towards the middle of the photo.

And here we are:  Anje and me, Bobbie McGee-oh, Powell.  Anje's cute but I just look weird.  I was standing on tippee toe so I wouldn't look so short and somehow I tipped my head back too far which really shows off my horrible 63-year old neck and my eyes just disappeared, disappeared to slits, ha! And what is that slouchy top I have on, ugh!

The two of us will be having an artists' reception 1st Saturday in July with wine and hors d 'oeuvres.  We will also be working the gallery 3 days a month for the whole summer and we're hoping to do a couple days together demonstrating and creating art.  Yay!  Feeling good was easy Lord when we sang the blues, feelin' good was good enough for me...
